Spiritual Retreat Facilitation
In the frantic pace of daily life, we often get caught up in doing, doing, doing. And frequently that doing is for other people—serving other people’s needs, other people’s wants. This is good, but much is demanded of us. Our service to others can overshadow self-care; it can shift our priorities to the point we find ourselves not properly balanced.
A spiritual retreat offers a pause to regain balance and refresh the soul.
Retreating is not about going backward, but about intentionally choosing how we move forward. A spiritual retreat offers the opportunity to…
- Refresh your spirit and enhance your life and relationships
- Reconnect with God, others and yourself
- Reflect on what matters most
- Renew your life and your organization
- Gain new perspective and get creative
- In stillness, discover how best to move forward to a full and fulfilling life
Together we’ll design a retreat that meets your organization’s needs. We’ll typically choose a theme or focus, from which appropriate activities spring. Common approaches include:
- Reflection exercises individually, in pairs, or in small groups
- Creative and whole-person activities such as writing, making artwork, taking walks in nature, or listening to music
- Designated rest and “fun” times
- Shared meals, sometimes including preparation and clean-up
- Sacred readings and discussions, prayer and meditation
- Formal religious services, including Communion, if desired
Whether you design a one-day retreat or a three-day long weekend event, by the time you leave, you will take away tools and practices to help you maintain peace, love and balance.
